Meet Melishe

Every family deserves compassionate care, trusted guidance, and someone who will walk beside them through one of life's most meaningful transitions.

That belief has guided my career for more than two decades and inspired the creation of Womb of Creation.

I'm Melishe, a maternal health leader, educator, and full-spectrum doula. I help families navigate pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood with compassionate guidance, evidence-based education, and unwavering support.

The Journey That Shaped

Womb of Creation

As a third-generation birthworker, supporting families has always felt like more than a profession, it is a responsibility I carry with humility, purpose, and deep respect. Throughout my career in maternal and child health, I've had the privilege of serving families in many different roles, from providing direct doula care and childbirth education to leading maternal health programs that strengthen systems of care and improve access for the communities we serve.

No matter where my journey has taken me, one truth has remained constant: every family deserves to feel informed, respected, supported, and empowered to make decisions that align with their values.

Over the years, I've learned that exceptional care is about more than sharing information. it's about building trust. It's about listening without judgment, honoring each family's unique story, and creating a space where questions are welcomed, choices are respected, and confidence can grow.

That vision became Womb of Creation, a place where evidence-based education, compassionate advocacy, and personalized support come together to nurture not only pregnancy and birth, but the well-being of the entire family. Whether I'm teaching a childbirth class, providing labor support, guiding a postpartum family, or partnering with healthcare organizations to improve maternal health, my purpose remains the same: to help families navigate each chapter with knowledge, compassion, and presence.

I believe birth is more than a single day, it's the beginning of a family's next chapter. When parents are supported with compassion, respect, and trusted guidance, the impact reaches far beyond the birth experience. It strengthens families, shapes future generations, and creates healthier communities.

Every family's story deserves to be heard, honored, and supported.

My Approach

With more than two decades in maternal and child health and the privilege of supporting more than 500+ births, I've learned that the most meaningful care begins with listening. Every family's story is different, and my role is to provide the knowledge, presence, and encouragement that helps you feel informed, respected, supported, and confident throughout your journey.

My role isn't to tell you how your journey into parenthood should look, it's to ensure you feel informed, respected, supported, and confident every step of the way.

Beyond the Resume

While supporting families is at the heart of what I do, it's only one part of who I am.

I'm a lifelong learner who believes that exceptional care begins with continual growth. Whether I'm expanding my knowledge in maternal health, mentoring other birth professionals, or developing new educational resources for families, I'm always looking for ways to better serve my community.

Outside of my professional work, I cherish time with my family and find inspiration in meaningful conversations, quiet moments of reflection, and opportunities to build stronger, healthier communities. These experiences continue to shape the way I care for others, with curiosity, compassion, and presence.

I believe that when families are supported with knowledge, compassion, and respect, the impact extends far beyond birth. It strengthens parents, nurtures children, and helps build healthier communities for generations to come.
